REQUIREMENT FOR ENVIRONMENTAL OFFICER (EO) Salary:5000-8000 (Negotiable) List of Requirement: Qualification: Minimum Degree of Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Civil, Chemical Engineering or equivalent Certification: Certified Erosion, Sediment, & StormWater Inspectors (CESSWI) or Certified Inspector of Sediment and Erosion Control (CISEC) or Certified Professional Environmental Officer In EIA Project Development (CePEOEIA) or equivalent Experience: Minimum 1 year working experience in environmental at project site Ability: Able to start work immediately Status: Permanent Job as follow by our company expansion planning Scope of Work: • Adhere to all associated requirements stipulated in the Environmental Quality Act (1974) and associated regulations. • Ensuring the implementation of EMP at the project site. • Investigating any environmental problem (e.g. spills & pollution) complaints and non‐compliance with the regulatory and reporting to site management. • Suggesting and implementing corrective actions and to mitigate environmental impact. • Make awareness to site personnel on the important of environmental protection. • Train and educate all personal entering and working on the site to work in a manner as to respect the surrounding environment. • Continually identify, reporting and record potential and presenting environmental issues on site and where appropriate recommend and implement solutions. • Limit any project activities if potential or presenting environmental issues are identified until rectified; • Conduct and Supervise Environmental Monitoring at site every month. • Ensure the effectiveness of all control measures implementation, good housekeeping practice and other matters related to environmental management. • Prepare Environmental Quality Report every month for submission to contractor and JKR • Attend meeting with JKR every month (Also you are required to attend meeting or site visit{s), whenever needed).
Eastern Steel Sdn. Bhd. (“ESSB” or the “Company”) is a steel manufacturing company, strategically located at the Kemaman, Terengganuon on the East Coast of West Peninsular of Malaysia. It was jointly invested by Beijing Jianlong Heavy Industry Group Co., Ltd. (“Beijing Jianlong”) and Hiap Teck Venture Bhd. (“HTVB”). It was built on an industrial land measuring 1209 acre. Its main production facilities consist of a sintering plant, an iron making plant, a steel making plant and an auxiliary plant, and it has an annual production capacity of 700,000 metric tons. The principal activities of the Company are manufacturing, selling and dealing in a range of steel product, serving the Malaysian and Southeast Asian markets. In 2018, Beijing Jianlong acquired controlling stake in ESSB and commenced resumption of production within a relatively short period of half a year. Moving forward, the Company is planning to expand its annual production capacities to 5 million metric tons with the building of a fully integrated steel plant.
